Argentina has exported seafood worth more than US$2 billion in 2017, while Patagonia red shrimp contribute to 65 percent of the country’s exports.

As the statistics show, the country has caught 220,000 tons of red shrimp in total. Its export value of red shrimps has already been more than U.S. $1 billion in 2016, which grew by 31 percent compared with the year before.

This dramatic increase in exports is primarily attributed to strong demand in China as well as great market performance in Europe.
