On the afternoon of Sept. 25, the flight UPS0082 landed in Shanghai Pudong airport after 10-plus hours of travel. And 10,000 golden king crabs were unloaded, completed customs clearance and were delivered to local ponds for temporary storage.

Hema Fresh Food of Alibaba flew in these king crabs from the FAO  067 area, Alaska, which were the first for the Chinese market, specifically for its newly open stores. The company announced on Sept. 28 its plans to open 10 stores in Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Shenzhen and Guizhou. This is the first time that so many Hema stores have opened at the same time since its founding. And Shenzhen, Hangzhou and Guizhou are new markets for Hema. Though young and only founded in 2015, Hema is dedicated to building a new retail system through a combination of online and offline sales channels.
